Muriel Bolton Award 2017

On Sunday 22nd October 2017, the Muriel Bolton Award for 2017 was presented to Ruth Potterton of Brookfield LTC.

This Award is made annually to a Lady member of any club affiliated to the Dublin Lawn Tennis Council who in the opinion of the Council has made a significant contribution as a player or administrator to the Dublin Leagues. This award recognises the long contribution of the late Muriel Bolton to the promotion and running of the Dublin Leagues over a period of more than 40 years.

Ruth Potterton has been a life long member of Brookfield LTC and has given outstanding service to her club since she was first elected to the Management Committee in 1974.  She has held the role of Hon Secretary and Lady Captain on numerous occasions and organised the Ladies League teams during most of this time.  Ruth has been an integral part of the Brookfield Junior Open Tournament Committee and in 2015 completed her 25th year as Referee.  Ruth has enjoyed over 40 years as a committed League player.  She is indeed a very worthy recipient of the Muriel Bolton award for 2017.
